Switching to ATSC 3.0

The engineers of Acrodyne Services have worked closely with Sinclair and ONE Media throughout the development of ATSC 3.0, providing technical resources and preparing transmitter equipment for evaluations and demonstrations of the new standard at various stages in its development. We have partnered with other ATSC 3.0 industry leaders such as LG, Samsung, GatesAir, TeamCast, R&S and Comark to bring these demonstrations to fruition.

Acrodyne Services engineers were instrumental in the design, and oversaw the development, of the ONE Media lab at Sinclair to bring together equipment suppliers and interested broadcasters for demonstrations and functional evaluations of equipment in the ATSC 3.0 signal delivery chain.

Partnered with Progira Plan

In anticipation of the widespread adoption of the use of Single Frequency Networks (SFN), now possible with the OFDM-based ATSC 3.0 standard, Acrodyne Services has partnered with Progira Radio Communications to use, and distribute, their advanced network planning software tool – PROGIRA¬ģ plan. This software has been used throughout the world in successful SFN deployments of other OFDM-based broadcast standards, such as DVB-T, DVB-T2 and ISDB-T. Evaluation of the Baltimore/Washington ATSC 3.0 SFN and planning/evaluation of the Dallas Pilot SFN deployment are currently underway. Field data will be gathered using the ONEMedia ATSC 3.0 Mobile test lab which was jointly designed by Acrodyne and ONEMedia engineers and is now operated and maintained by Acrodyne.
